Getting Your Soil Tested

Have you ever wondered why certain grass and plants grown well in your yard while others struggle to thrive?  Perhaps your yard is lacking some key nutrients to facilitate proper growth.  The Virginia Coorperative Extension along with the Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences department at Virginia Tech University offer FREE soil testing for your lawn.  Just follow these simple steps to get your soil tested:

  1. Pick up a soil testing box at your nearest Plant nursery or your local Cooperative Extension office.
  2. Follow the sampling instructions within the box.
  3. Send the sample to:     Virginia Tech Soil Testing Lab

    Blacksburg, VA 24061
  4. Reports are mailed to the email or mailing address provided.
